YOGA is the ancient science of ‘right living’.

Yoga works with the body, mind and spirit. Asana (Yoga postures) and Pranayama (breathing techniques) help to enhance flexibility and strength, promote relaxation and increase awareness of our thought patterns and how we react to the outside world.

Yoga teaches us to respect and cherish our bodies, to pay attention to what is going on inside, to stay centered and to connect to who we are. As we begin to discover what it is that we are passionate about and learn to follow our gut, our resilience and confidence in our own abilities increases and we can achieve our highest potential.

As our minds become stiller, we open up more to the joy of the present moment as we learn to be grateful for all of the gifts in our world, and for the tough challenges that give us an opportunity to learn and grow. 

Yoga also teaches us about the value of strong relationships to help us on our journey. As we recognise our connection to other people and see similarities in them, we develop a capacity for greater empathy, patience and openness towards others, as well as a stronger desire to work to be of service to our community.
